Why entrepreneurship

Leaving the military is one of the biggest shifts a person can face, and it often lands in someone’s 30s or 40s, with a family to support and a career to rebuild. Traditional job paths do not always make room for the leadership experience veterans bring, and that talent goes underused.

We help veteran and military spouse founders build businesses of their own, using the same skills that made them effective in service: leadership, discipline, adaptability, and the ability to get things done with limited resources. Every founder we work with has already proven they can perform when the stakes are real.

What we offer

A cohort, not a course

Structured, cohort-based training in planning, budgeting, marketing, and operations, run on the same model as Launchpad’s other cohorts.

Instructors who’ve done it

The same instructors who lead Launchpad’s other cohorts, plus mentors who understand military transition specifically.

Capital to back the plan

Access to seed funding, grants, and lenders who understand veteran-owned businesses.

A network that keeps going

Connect with other veteran and military spouse founders, and with the broader Launchpad founder community.

Built for veteran and military spouse founders

It does not matter if someone served four years or twenty, or if they are a spouse who held down the home front through deployments and moves. It does not matter what age or what stage of the idea they are at. The cohort meets founders where they are.

No business degree required. No capital already sitting in the bank. No fully formed business idea. Just the drive to build something of their own — the cohort provides the rest.

The program is completely free for veteran and military spouse founders. No tuition, no hidden fees.

Fund a cohort

Every cohort we run for veteran and military spouse founders depends on people and organizations who back it. Individual donors, family offices, corporations, and foundations sponsor seats and fund cohorts because they want their support to translate directly into someone’s independence.

Every business launched through a Launchpad Foundation cohort creates new jobs, strengthens local economies, and proves what is possible when veteran founders get the tools to build, not just a send-off.
